Bayfront Park
What would it be like if we lived in world where there was no escape, where no matter how hard we tried we just couldn't get away from it all? I think that is something we all have in common we all long to get away from it all, a vacation from life or the great escape. Whatever it may be there is something inside of everyone that longs to break free from the chains of life and escape. The unfortunate thing is that many of us do not realize that it is all around us. It has taken me a long time to realize what the word escape really means. I hope through this blog, my thoughts, and pictures you have found a way to escape, whether it be just visually or you have actually gone out into nature.
Sunday was a rainy day for the most of it, and it was pretty heavy rain up until the later part of the day. Once it quit the wife and I (Leah) decided to head over to Daphne Alabama and stroll around Bayfront Park. If you go the right way it can also lead you directly to Village Point Park, which I talked about not to long ago. Since it was getting late in the day and the sun would soon set we decided just to walk around Bayfront, just to be able to get out of the house.
There are many things to do at this park. The boardwalk there leads you across some bog area and directly to Mobile Bay. There are two piers at this park and both allow fishing. It also has a nice sandy beach which I am sure is filled with people soaking up the sun on most days. We haven't been here in a while and since the last time the reeds
and grass have really grown up around the lagoon and it made for a really nice walk. It almost felt as we were somewhere else that day, or maybe we both just really needed to get out of the house on our "Great Escape." As we walked along the bay you could see fish jumping in and out of the water, usually it is a great place to see birds but because of all the people I think the birds where hiding that day. Bayfront is a great place to get a way, whether it be for a few minutes or a few hours. If you catch it at the right time you can see one of the most spectacular sunsets as it goes down over the bay. This is a great place for anyone.
I can't imagine a world without nature, a world with no escape. There is no better place than outside, take advantage of it this week go outside and have an adventure and share it with me.
